He is President-Elect of the International Society of Hypnosis ISH, director of the Milton Erickson Institute Rottweil Germany and BOD of Milton Erickson Foundation Phoenix since 1999. While Dr. Trenkle was President of the Milton Erickson Gesellschaft M.E.G. (1996-2003) he won the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Milton Erickson Foundation. He is teaching hypnotherapy regularly in other European countries, South Africa and China, through Beijing University and DCAP. His career started at the University Clinic Heidelberg as assistant in the Psychotherapy Research Project Psychosomatic Department and he worked from 1982-1986 in the Department of Speech Pathology University Clinic Heidelberg

Dr. Trenkle wrote the Hahandbook of Psychotherapy a bestselling joke book in Germany, which is translated in English, Russian, Italian and is the author of a book about metaphors and self-hypnosis training. He’s editor of the German Editions of Collected Papers of Milton Erickson.

Within the last 35 years he organized congresses and workshops which have been attended by more than 40,000 people:

  • Organizer (with his Rottweil Team) of 19th International Hypnosis Congress 2012 in Bremen (2300 participants)
  • European Organizer (with Jeffrey Zeig) of the Evolution of Psychotherapy Conference 1994 in Hamburg Germany (6.000 participants).
  • Organizer of 8 child hypnosis conferences in Germany which have been attended by more than 9000 participants and several other large congresses with more than 1000 participants.
